  3. So kind of off topic but I saw this page was posted over on NOW’s combox (I found this site overall from BC). Some of the comments strike me as interesting, some people saying that this position of doubting the claims of jurisdiction by “sede clergy” to be like a “doubting Thomas”. The modernists and most people say this about sedevacantism itself, to just give up doubts about Francis being pope and accept him as pope. It’s not really that much more dramatic of a position or “extra doubtful” to exit the sede chapels to the “at home” position.

    It was a pretty natural question, once you realize you can’t go to the Vatican 2 churches, you would then be skeptical of these “unauthorized” chapels.

    Also another point, even if it was true that those chapels are licit, “home alone” would still be the default position worldwide. Most people don’t live within an hour of these places and couldn’t be expected to go there with any frequency. So there is a lack of realism to me with the sede community on these topics.
